The future remains an enigma for all of us—no one can truly predict what lies ahead. Life unfolds as an exhilarating, unpredictable journey that defies our attempts at mastery.

Every effort I make to tightly grip the reins of my existence only serves to distance me from truly living it. It's easy to overlook that all our actions and structures are merely human inventions—ideas, concepts, and creations we devise to make sense of the inexplicable. We crave definitive answers in situations where none exist, filling the voids with our own narratives.

Human nature draws us toward the comfort of predictability, the assurance that we can anticipate the next turn—yet reality consistently reveals itself as a profound mystery, full of surprises and twists.

While I don't align with any particular religion, I can recognize and appreciate a genuine miracle when it presents itself in vivid, tangible ways. I am not just passing through this world; I am an integral part of it, woven into its fabric.

I reside in an urban environment that perpetuates a mindset common to all cities: the notion that humanity stands apart from the rest of the natural world. We convince ourselves that we originate from a separate lineage, positioning nature on one side and ourselves on the other. This artificial divide shaped my perspective for years until global events shattered that illusion completely.

The worldwide shutdown felt like a stark, urgent message from the universe: it's time to awaken. You, me, and the other billions caught in this delusion of humanity versus nature—we all suffered a decisive defeat. Reflecting on it now, it's reminiscent of those intense moments in Michael Jordan's The Last Dance series. You might have been in the game, competing fiercely, but hindsight reveals the overwhelming odds stacked against you from the start, rendering victory impossible.

Moving forward, I commit to honoring life as the extraordinary miracle it truly is. Careers, finances, and conventional measures of "success" are essentially grown-up equivalents of childhood sandboxes—play areas with self-imposed boundaries. This doesn't mean I'm abandoning everything to retreat into the wilderness. Rather, it's an acknowledgment that these are all games with arbitrary rules, and I must stop investing them with undue gravity and stress.

If the current game no longer appeals to you, or if its rules feel unjust and limiting, walk away. Choose pursuits that ignite your passion. Engage in activities that bring genuine joy. Even design your own games. This perspective isn't a license to quit at the first sign of difficulty—on the contrary, it's a nod to the fact that anything truly worthwhile demands significant effort and resilience. Therefore, be discerning: avoid pouring your energy into endeavors where the investment doesn't align with meaningful returns.

Our time on this earth is fleeting and precious. Refuse to squander it chasing victories in games that hold no real value for you.

This moment offers an ideal opportunity for introspection and realignment.

As you look toward the coming year, consider: Which games will you eagerly embrace? And, perhaps more crucially, which ones will you decisively leave behind?
